I travelled in Asian countries: Thai, Camboya, Vietnam, China

For mybussines I've met many countries: fifty. Etiopia was my favourite. Because it's very different. I ate raw meat. Middle East, too. Saudi Arabia, women has to cover when they are walking in the streets, they are never alone, always with a man.

Camilo: in Africa are animals walking in the streets?

T: No, there aren't.

B: In Morocco they use a lot of donkeys, and lot's of donkeys caca too! Sometimes goats.

Entrevista a Marta Di Felice con los alumnos de 2º/3º Proyecto 1ª1

MDF: ¿En la Escuela tienen Plástica?

Carlos: Tenemos Diseño, hicimos un juego, relacionado con la Ciudad.

MDF: Explica la técnica de la Xilografía, fue profesora de Plástica con niños, estudió Bellas Artes en la Escuela Manuel Belgrano, Escenografía en el Instituto del Teatro Colón y después empezó a pintar, exponer y vender su obra en la Feria de Anticuarios de Plaza Dorrego, en San Telmo, ahí estuve muchos años. Después se interesó por la técnica del grabado.

Esto es un fibrofácil, también se puede usar una madera, entonces uno hace un boceto, lo pasás del derecho y del revés y se empieza a calar con gubias, hay gubias en ‘ve’ con las que se puede dibujar y con las gubias en ‘u’ se cava, después se entinta. Entonces, la parte que está cavada va a dar blanco ó el color que sea, cuando se imprime la superficie del taco con tintas que pasan por una prensa. Ponés la hoja y la vas pasando como si fuera una especie de ‘fotocopiadora’. Además acá vemos otras técnicas, collage, gofrado, xilo collage. Trabajo sobre una madera, e imprimo. El gofrado es otra técnica, mojás el papel y al pasar la prensa queda la forma en relieve. Esto es un poco la técnica del grabado, trabajás sobre la madera, tallás, le das color e imprimís.

Cecilia: When did you start?

MDF: I don’t know… A long time ago…

C: Where did you study?

MDF: I’ve studied at Manuel Belgrano Fine Art School.

C: Are you happy with your work?

MDF: Yes, I’m very happy!

C: It’s difficult being an Artist?

MDF: Yes, it is. Pero es muy placentero.

C: Which is the hardest part of being an artist?

MDF: Poder vivir de esto. Yo siempre tuve la suerte de poder trabajar de esto; ya sea con niños trabajando desde la Plástica ó trabajando en jornadas con padres y chicos, siempre desde este ámbito.

C: Do you sell your pictures?

MDF: A eso me refiero cuando digo que es muy difícil vivir nada más que de esto, siempre tenés que tener algo más, ya sea en publicidad, diseño ó enseñando.

C: Why do you decide to be an artist?

MDF: Siempre me gusto el arte. Para mí el secundario fue muy difícil porque no encontraba cosas que me resultaran realmente placenteras, después de mucho tiempo yo quería hacer escenografía porque a mi padre le gustaba muchísimo la ópera entonces pensé en eso, me fui a presentar al Instituto del Teatro Colón, donde se daba en forma gratuita, porque sino tenías la Universidad del Salvador que era muy costoso o a La Plata, que era lejos. En el Colón me dijeron que tenía que tener nociones de dibujo y de pintura, para hacer escenografía. Entonces me fui a Bellas Artes y ahí econtré mi verdadera vocación, porque uno en Bellas Artes sobre todo en aquella época, que fueron fines de los ’70, que era una época muy linda; habrán oído del Di Tella, de Marta Minujín… ¿Vieron la obra, la Torre de Babel, con los libros en Plaza San Martín? Había una movida muy interesante dentro de la Plástica. Entonces, bueno, seguí trabajando y trabajando, hice los 4 años en la Belgrano e hice 2 años más en el Colón; siempre seguí trabajando por mi cuenta, a veces en algún taller. Actualmente voy a un taller donde está la prensa.

Carlos: ¿Volvería a hacer lo mismo?

MDF: Sí, yo creo que volvería a hacer lo mismo; a pesar de que se vive muy al día. Yo creo que lo importante, especialmente ustedes que después van a elegir una carrera, es hacer lo que a uno le gusta. Siempre te las ingeniás y buscás la forma. Estoy muy contenta con esta muestra, la inauguración fue muy linda.

CECI S.A.: When did you read Italo Calvino?

MDF: Empecé a trabajar el tema de las ciudades e Italo Calvino con sus ‘Ciudades Invisibles’ me aportó al tema, también están las soledades, los edificios…

Matías: A los cuántos años se empezó a dedicar?

MDF: Primero hice Bellas Artes, después el Colón y después emepecé a vender en Plaza Dorrego, en San Telmo, en esos años se vendía bastante, había mucho turismo (y ahora también).

Eso es lo lindo, por un lado uno pierde la obra, pero después pensás que la persona que la compró la va a disfrutar, que continúa la obra.

Picasso en una charla con Wilfredo Lam, un pintor cubano, a quien le querían comprar toda la obra, Picasso y Wilfredo Lam se habían hecho muy amigos en París.

Alfredo Lam: ‘Picasso, el marchand me quiere comprar toda la obra, ¿qué hago?

Pablo Picasso: Déjala, las obras son como los hijos, uno la hace pero después tiene que dejarlas que vuelen.
